It should make PVW this time around.

I started reading that first line and was like WTF! you better not get rid of that car. Well once the bay is done we'll get cracking on mine again  and yeah PVW would be nice

IF he sells it, i see a Fahrenheit in his future!

 honestly with as many spare parts that he has he could just piece together another MK4

Love the rear so much more w/ the R-Line. Looks great, miss seeing this car around. It seems so "blah" in the first few pictures. Not that it is (or was), but just pales in comparison to what the car has become now.

Thanks man I appreciate the compliment  I miss the car too and I know they say hindsight is 20/20 and looking back I sometimes wish I never would've went in the direction with the bay that I did but maybe instead doing something else but oh well. Whenever the shoulder is better and I start working some ot again I'll get cracking on it  As far as the R-line bumper yeah its definitely the best looking bumper out there for the MK4 golf...expensive as all hell though

i still remember the first time i came to Monday nights and only few cars were parked out there, yours really stood out. The fact that it was silver like mine at that time just gave me some hope because i hate used to hate the silver color. Like you I just got such a good deal on it I couldn't pass it up.

Watching this car transforming to where it is now has helped me go the direction I am going now.

Can't wait for you to start cracking on it Mike.

I've searched and its still not back yet, I talked to an administrator about it and he said they're in the process of bring back archived threads so we'll see. Hopefully its not lost forever [-o< I'll continue to update this as soon as they get it back

Okay time to start bringing this back up to speed...I haven't been able to update this since the 'tex went down but I got my build thread back so on we go...

After a very sucessful '08 season I decided to go for broke and do a bay shave among other things...this isn't going to be your typical bay shave as I plan to keep all the mordern ammenities such as PS, ABS, AC, ect. in my mind its too easy just to delete stuff and shave the bay, I wanted to take things to another level and still do a shave but retaining all the the goodies while still keeping them as hidden as possible  Also in the works is custom one-off wheels of my own design, airrride, more interior work, and a fully painted/smoothed/detailed underside.

Okay lets get this going with some pics...
First the wiring needed to be taken care of and that meant lengthening and hiding the entire harness...only an aircraft carrier could have more wiring than this and this is halfway done! you should've seen this mess when I got started! ](*,)
Image/>
Image/>

I'm running all the wiring that came out through the firewall out through this access panel in the raintray, why VW didn't do it this way in the first place is beyond me  would've made my job alot easier
Image/>

All this crap is never gonna find its way back into the bay! N249, coolant bottle, washer bottle, sai, ect. thats a box full of shit people!
Image/>

Thats it for now but more to come later!

WTF Mike, where's your copper plated tranny

Seriously though I can envision your idea of keepin all the goodies and doing a shave, & fully agree w/ deleting items is an easy way out. I commend you on your vision & anticipate the updates     .

Do you happen to have a link to your Whoretex build thread? I would like to see :D.

Okay more getting caught up...

So here's what the wire relocate/tuck looked like after I was all but done, all that needed done at this point was a few random wires and the ABS harness.
Image/>

This is the hole in the framerail that I was originally gonna run the ABS harness through
Image/>

Here's the ABS harness re-routed through the aforementioned access hole...this will change but I'll get to that later.
Image/>

It all tucked neatly and hidden behind the ABS pump
Image/>

Here's most of the drivers side harness that has been extended/re-routed through the fender rail, everything has been re-wrapped in oem friction tape.
Image/>

Fan control module relocated
Image/>

My battery relocation kit from Jegs
Image/>

Here's the access hole in the floorboard where I'll be running my 2 ga. power wire and ABS harness through.
Image/>

Thats it for now, till later
